This November, we are proud to announce that we will be donating a portion of our sales to local non-profit, St. Louis Arc, through our monthly Closets for a Cause giveback initiative. St. Louis Arc empowers people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and their families to lead better lives by providing a lifetime of high-quality services, family support, and advocacy throughout the St. Louis metro area.
This donation from Saint Louis Closet Co. will help St. Louis Arc continue its mission of helping individuals with disabilities meet their needs through services that include early childhood programs, leisure and recreation, vocational training, community engagement, residential care, family support, respite care, advocacy, and more.
“The St. Louis Arc is extremely grateful to community partners like Saint Louis Closet Co., who actively seek out opportunities to make a difference in the lives of people with disabilities,” says St. Louis Arc President and CEO Mark Keeley. “By hosting this fundraiser, Saint Louis Closet Co. will be helping our participants develop job skills, gain and maintain meaningful employment, and be fully included in their community. We salute Saint Louis Closet Co. for their commitment to making St. Louis a better place to live.”
Saint Louis Closet Co.’s Impact
The funds raised through Closets for a Cause will go directly toward St. Louis Arc’s Employment Services program and Pre-Employment Training program to help people with disabilities prepare to enter the workforce. The Employment Services program includes conducting virtual and in-person classes and training for job skill development, mock interviews, life skills, interpersonal communication, and one-on-one job coaching. The Pre-Employment Training program is a one-year training program that helps individuals build employment skills such as interviewing techniques, how to complete a job application, learning universal job skills, and developing relationships with supervisors and coworkers. Individuals in this program will get to practice these skills in a work environment that reflects their interests.
St. Louis Arc was founded in 1950 by a small group of parents who wanted opportunities for their children with disabilities. Today, St. Louis Arc provides high-quality services to more than 4,500 people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.
