Saint Louis Closet Co. is proud to partner with nonprofits through our giveback initiative Closets for a Cause. So far, we’ve donated $101,527.64 to nonprofits in the St. Louis community! This February, we’re donating a portion of all sales to L’Arche St. Louis. Continue reading to learn about this organization and its awesome cause!
L’Arche St. Louis
Founded in 2011, L’Arche St. Louis helps members with disabilities live full and healthy lives. Currently, 14 adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities are receiving formal services.
- In the Daytime Activities Program, members participate in inclusive activities throughout the week.
- In the Education and Community Outreach Program, L’Arche shares the nonprofit’s mission and experience with students and brings members and the broader community together through social events.
- In the Family Support Program, individuals with disabilities and their families receive support.
- In the Residential Services Program, adults with disabilities share day-to-day activities and responsibilities with live-in caregivers.
L’Arche also presents its mission to students of all ages, hosts service groups, and holds monthly events and seasonal celebrations that are open to all.
Saint Louis Closet Co.’s Impact
“We are so grateful for the partnership with Saint Louis Closet Co.,” said Paula Kilcoyne, Executive Director and Community Leader of L’Arche St. Louis. “Closets for a Cause will further our mission to provide high-quality care and places of belonging for people with intellectual or developmental disabilities.”
The nonprofit will use funds raised through Closets for a Cause to fund its programs and a special project. They’re working to create a fully accessible patio with raised garden beds at L’Arche’s Activities Center in Brentwood. This is where members will learn how to grow fruits and vegetables they can use in home-cooked meals.
